Where to Picnic in Bozeman & What to Pack

We are all about picnics these days. With the shelter in place + social distancing orders, we are getting creative with changing location for lunch and dinner. Nick and I have a favorite picnic spot we found years ago. We vowed we’d go picnic there every year, but of course last summer, ‘we were too busy’ (insert eye roll). Well the silver lining in social distancing and no restaurants being open, we finally made it back to that picnic spot and we’ve since found a few more beautiful locations. We have also been picnicking at home, it’s Olivia’s favorite way to dine. Here are some recipe ideas for your next home picnic and where to picnic in Bozeman, MT.

  • Hyalite Reservoir
  • Yellowstone River (near Livingston)
  • Lindley Park
  • Fairy Lake
  • Bozeman Pond
  • Moose Creek
  • Lava Lake: about 1.5 hr hike to the lake
  • Ousel Falls: Big Sky

Chickpea Tuna
